RESOURCES & TOOLS

While doing the background research for most of the posts and oral histories on the website to date, I’ve come across many resources that could be useful to others wanting to do their own research on Jasper Place. As a researcher and librarian, I know how guides to some of the tools to carry out that research can be useful.

So, below are lists of specific references or links to books or articles and online sources of information, as well as guides to the tools and resources in various Archives and online. As mentioned, these reflect the areas we’ve covered so far.

These are not exhaustive lists, items will have been missed, and there may be errors. These lists of resources will be updated from time to time as we develop new areas of research. If you have comments or suggestions, please send an email to jasperplacehistory@gmail.com.

As with the original content we have developed for the website, these guides can be used and reproduced, but we ask that you mention where you got the content, and provide a link to the website. It’s different, though, for content from authors and creators that have given us permission to reproduce their content, and for the photos and maps. Please obtain your own permissions to reuse or reproduce them.
